Make the query specific
Use site:docs.python.org to focus on a domain and quotes around an exact phrase, such as site:docs.python.org "asyncio". pageflock preserves these operators in the query it sends to search.
Include the terms that actually define the result you need. Adding many unrelated terms can remove useful results. Search engines can still interpret a query differently from a database filter, so inspect the returned titles, snippets and source URLs.
Choose the right search operation
Web, news and video search use separate operations. Each takes query, country, language and limit. The limit is a whole number from 1 to 10; five credits buys one successful search call, not five credits per result.
Country and language influence the search context. They do not prove a person’s location, translate an article or filter every returned source to a specific country. Available search depends on the service configuration.
{
"query": "site:docs.python.org \"asyncio\"",
"country": "us",
"language": "en",
"limit": 10
}Collect the source when needed
Search returns discovery results and snippets, not the full linked page. To obtain a permitted article’s text, make a separate page extraction request. That successful extraction uses one additional credit.
An empty successful search still uses five credits because the search completed. Try a broader phrase or a different locale deliberately instead of repeatedly rerunning the same request.
